Abstract
The article seeks to demonstrate why theoretical frameworks in legal research tend to be predominantly disciplinary and positioned at the frontiers of knowledge. To do so, through an explanatory and transdisciplinary approach based on documentary sources, it develops three thematic axes: (i) using to the concept of the tessellated fractal, it explains how the frontiers of knowledge, as a phenomenon of specialization in
the sciences, iterate in the demarcation of internal and external perspectives in law; ii) it explores how
theoretical frameworks, within legal research processes, due to the inheritance of internal and external viewpoints, are typically disciplinary and, to a limited extent, interdisciplinary; iii) it outlines the roadmap to indiscipline and transdiscipline legal research by identifying categories of homogeneous and heterogeneous theoretical framework. Finally, the article concludes with an imperative to transform legal research problems
into translegal problems.
