Novum Jus enters the most prestigious international rankings

Twelve years after the publication of the first issue of Novum Jus and crucial transformations it has undergone in recent years, we are pleased to share two significant announcements with our readers: we have been officially indexed in Scopus and we have also been included in the Journal Citation Reports of the Web of Science. This news fills us with immense joy, as it is a result of the efforts and quality path followed by the editorial team of the Journal, headed by its general editor, Dr. Germán Silva García. Furthermore, we want to take this opportunity to thank the invaluable support of the Deanship of the Faculty of Law, the Socio-Legal Research Center, the Editorial Office, and the central management level of the Universidad Católica de Colombia. They have always believed in this project.

As part of the results of this path of quality and scientific relevance, the Journal has significantly increased its flow of articles; the editorial policies have been reformulated to follow international quality criteria; contents have been redesigned to be more attractive to readers; the reading, consultation, and citation rates of the Journal have considerably increased; the scientific rigor and relevance of the publications have been consolidated; and the editorial board has been restructured, currently counting on the collaboration of some of the most respected researchers from different regions of the world.

The inclusion of Novum Jus in the two most prestigious rankings of scientific journals globally (SJR and JCR) places us in the select group of a few Latin American publications —in our areas of knowledge— that are officially part of the best scientific journals in the world. This recognition reaffirms the Journal's commitment to producing and disseminating knowledge of the highest quality and relevance under international standards.

This acknowledgment also brings with it new challenges for the Journal. As part of its constant efforts to ensure scientific relevance, Novum Jus will become a quarterly publication, allowing for a greater dynamization of the debates conducted by the Journal and an increase in the number of papers, which will contribute to strengthening our disciplines. Thus, it will continue to take firm steps to consolidate its position in the rankings of these two bibliographic indexes.

On this occasion, we would like to commemorate these important achievements by presenting this special issue to the academic community, which includes discussions on public participation and management, state contracting, constitutionalization, criminal liability, science, education, and research in law, cultural diplomacy, international law, and armed conflicts. We hope it will be of great interest to our readers.
